So....the first thing to go is the mace:
Although very handy, I am sure that the purse might be a safer place for it! Next off the key chain, the pocket knife:
I think that removing this one is going to settle the library workers down a little bit, they seem to get shifty eyed when I hand them my library card that is next to my pocket knife that is hanging from my keys. As much as I love India, I have two key chains that I was given while I was there and one of them had to go, so this one is next off the key chain:
I hope none of my Indian friends are offended. I also love New York City but this one has to come off too:
The two most recent key chains that I have received are these two:
The little Russian nesting girl was a gift from Rebecca and came from Moldova and the awesome whistle/thermometer/compass was a gift from my sister because she knows how crazy I am about knowing where north is at all times, I found a happy spot for these two in the Subaru. This one on the other hand.....well I don't even want to talk about what I am going to do with it....my gym membership:
Knocking off the keys to Jemela's old place and the garage where my bike is stored and the mail key:
this is what I am left with:
All the essentials! The two keys to Ian, my house key and the key to the parents, work key, a reminder from my dad that he loves me and a key chain from India. I wonder how long it will take for things to pile up again!

I used to collect keycahins when I was in high school. I felt for you as I saw all of the memories attached to each of those. I love your photo stories on your posts. I am back from Arizona and ready for the kids to return to school tomorrow! Let's plan something fun to do this month.
I think you've got something here. Start a service where you de-clutter other peoples keychains. I could be your first client. Then you could move on to my closet, my laundry room, on top of my refridgerator, it would never stop...
first of all, thanks for finding me. Second, I loved talking to you too. (I also carry a pocket knife on my keys, so I wouldn't be shifty eyed at you) and then I just wanted to say, I really like James Christensen's art and I'm reading a book you will like. The Quiet Child by Peter Hoeg. It's about a European Circus clown who becomes a child psychologist and gets mixed up in an kidnapping/abuse case while the EU is after him for tax evation. ;-) is that weird or what.
