Fall is one of my favorite times of the year...pomegranate time! There is nothing quite like a pomegranate! They are so tasty. I am sure that this was the fruit that cause the great fall in the beginning It might take awhile to shuck one but it is definitely worth it in the end. I can expect to have stained fingers from now until the end of January. Did you know that the fruit is actually called an aril and that is the goodness wrapped around each seed? You don't have to spit out the seed in the center, they are good and crunchy and super high in fiber. What a great fruit! Have you had your bowl of aril today? Try it with mandarin oranges and turkey on a salad! (the apple pot holder featured in this picture was crocheted with love by cousin Carol)

Ha! Don't you just love that feeling after eating a pomegranate when your fingers are all sticky? It's the best
That is almost my favorite thing!! I am trying all sorts of other fruits and vegetable mixes with pomeagranates! I think that pomes with turkey is so tasty!...wonder that they would taste like with a squeeze of fresh lime!
What I want to know is why I don't have a apple pot holder. :(
